Welcome to the official website for Oshimili North Local Government Area. We are one of the twenty-five Local Government Areas that make up Delta State, South-South geo-political region of Nigeria. Founded in 1997 and until its creation, was part of the old Oshimili Local Government Area. Headquartered at Akwukwu-Igbo.

History
Oshimili North Local Government Area comprises several towns and communities, including Akwukwu-Igbo, Aninwalo, Atuma, Ebu, Ibusa, Illah, Okpanam, Ugbolu, and Ukala. The area is also divided into political wards, each represented by an elected councillor who forms part of the Legislative Arm of the Local Government Administration while the Executive Chairman is the Head of the Executive Arm of Government.

The wide and general acceptance of Hon. Innocent Esewezie’s second tenure ambition is a confirmation of the need to consolidate on the gains and development recorded during his first tenure & the clamor to do more birthed the slogan PUTA-IFE.
Puta-Ife is a Divine Call to greater service to the people of Oshimili North.
